Genetically modified foods

We have discussed food insecurities globally, and the impact that food shortages have had on the population and the economy of the societies. The degradation of land, extreme poverty, and social deprivation (i.e., limited education, increased population, unstable economies, etc.) all contribute to food insecurities in a number of countries/societies.
A means of abating this social issue is genetically modified food (GM).Even though the production of modified crops has been increasing around the world in efforts to address hunger and food insecurities, there is still some controversy.
In this activity assignment, research the topic of genetically modified foods.Your written research of this topic needs to reflect the below.
- Identify a country that utilizes genetically modified crops
- Discuss the benefits and/or risks of using genetically modified organisms (foods) in the country you selected?
- What improvements have been made in food insecurities because of the introduction of genetically modified products?
- Lastly, what is your position/argument on GMOs?Your position needs to address the benefits, the risks, and any ethical objections to use.
