For our first discussion, we will be defining a quality care issue in nursing. Thinking thoughtfully of your current or previous organization or clinical setting, select a nursing care issue that is quality driven. The selected issue should not be one that has already undergone quality improvement efforts.
Please remember you are to select a nursing care issue , not a workforce issue such as staffing or nursing shortage. The selected issue is one that would be positively impacted by improved quality. Providing the details of the issue and how the issue impacts nursing care quality are essential components of the discussion. These essentials will help you complete your Milestone 1 assignment.
As you familiarize yourself with the requirements for your Milestone 1 assignment, you will see that you must develop a desired outcome for your selected topic. The desired outcome is what you hope to achieve by improving quality. Historically, development of a desired outcome has been difficult for many students. In the spirit of Chamberlain Care, I strongly encourage you to include your desired outcome in this discussion to receive feedback prior to submitting Milestone 1.
