Two important team building skills to me are communication and trust. Communication is the foundation to building or creating a team. Communication is important because it helps the leader and the team express ideas, problems, concerns, etc. Teams have to have strong communication skills to develop or create a team. The leader and team must be aware of both types of communication, written and verbal. The written and verbal communication types will be used to discuss the teamâ€s goals, company goals, delegate tasks to members, and much more. Another important aspect of communicating is listening. Listening is a very important aspect of effective communication. Listening helps teams to understand what their responsibilities are and what the team needs are. Listening helps members understand the concerns and needs of every member so that they each feel they are being considered and understood.
Trust is a very important foundation of building a team. Trust helps members to increase productivity, increase cohesiveness, and to increase the teamâ€s successes. Trust helps team members to become dependent on one another and to feel like they can count on one another. Establishing trust also helps members understand that their completed tasks and duties are welcomed and valued. Trust also helps to establish and boost the team memberâ€s morale as well. The feeling of having trust among team members help to strengthen the company or organization as well. Trust helps to reduce turnover, increase morale, decrease anxiety, and improve the companyâ€s products or services.
