The first essay should investigate one particular religion that we have covered in class: Zoroastrianism, Manichaeism, Judaism, Eastern Christianity, Islam, or Buddhism. Discuss how the religious community has changed over time or how it looks different in different regions. The goal of the first essay is to focus on one religious tradition, explaining how it changes. You are allowed to use personal stories, but remember that you have limited space (around 750 words). Note: you must incorporate class text(s) in some way, most likely Religions of the Silk Road.
