Hopefully we can generate an interesting discussion about the role of evidence-based practice in social work. Let me set up a scenario.
You have been hired into your first social work position after graduation and your supervisor asks you to read an article, “Effectiveness of a Care Coordination Model for Stroke Survivors: A Randomized Study.” She would like you (as the Newbie!) to give a brief staff report about the effectiveness of evidence-based practice in social work, using that article to help illustrate some of your points. Briefly discuss with the class some of the main points you can make about evidence-based practice, based on this article. Why did the researchers use ANOVA as the particular statistical analysis strategy in the research and what do the results mean?
