I don’t know how to handle this Communications question and need guidance.
- Map the Toulmin model (claim, grounds, and warrant) for each of the following arguments:
- Candidate X should be our next president because of their positive voting record on environmental issues.
- We should start our group discussion post early because it is difficult to work when we are rushed.
- Gay people should not be allowed to marry because the Bible says so.
- Choose one of the three prompts and write an alternative argument where you support the same claim with different grounds. Map this new argument using the Toulmin model.
- Choose a different prompt and write a counter-argument where you refute the original claim. Map this new argument using the Toulmin model.
