Research: Door or Gate Position Switches (DPS)

I’m working on a Computer Science question and need guidance to help me study.

According to Fennelly (2017), electrified panic hardware is required on doors where there could be a large number of people needing exit in an emergency. A single exit motion is needed to move though the door. Door and gate position switches (DPS) are used to sense rather a door is open or closed. The following are DPS types:

  • Magnet switch
  • Plunger switch
  • Hall effect switch
  • Mercury switch

Briefly summarize the advantages and disadvantages of each switch. Then conclude with comments on your preferred switch. Make sure to mention why you selected the switch.

Your research paper should be at least 2 pages (800 words), double-spaced (APA formatted), have at least 4 APA references, and typed in an easy-to-read font in MS Word (other word processors are fine to use but save it in MS Word format). Your cover page should contain the following: Title, Student’s name, University’s name, Course name, Course number, Professor’s name, and Date.
