Was this leader flexible when it came to applying ideas to real-life situations and making decisions ? is flexible the right word? If this individual stayed from processed ideas or beliefs in the name of pragmatism, could this divergence be considered betrayal of his principles?

Was it a good idea, or bad one, for this leader to behave like Machiavellian Prince at these specific times? evoke concrete admonitions to the Prince, not generalities or assumptions
